Juan Soto has made quite the first impression. In his spring training debut for the Yankees on Sunday, wearing the full pinstripe uniform, Soto blasted a three-run, opposite-field home run that hit off the scoreboard in left-center field in the bottom of the fourth inning in Tampa.
The 428-foot bomb, which had an exit velocity of 110.1 miles per hour, gave the Yankees a 7-1 lead over the Blue Jays. Soto, 25, was batting second in the lineup ahead of Aaron Judge, who was 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and two runs.
Though it was just his first game of spring training, the impressive home run was a welcome sight for the Yankees, who acquired Soto in a blockbuster December trade with the Padres.
